Recently, Nexperia, an expert in high-volume production of basic semiconductor devices, announced the launch of a series of 22 new planar Schottky diode products in CFP3-HP packages. This product portfolio includes 11 industrial products and 11 AEC-Q101 compliant products, designed to support manufacturers in switching to smaller size CFP packaging devices in areas such as automotive applications to replace traditional SMx-type packaging devices. These diodes are suitable for various scenarios such as DC-DC conversion, freewheeling, reverse polarity protection and OR-ing applications.
To provide greater design flexibility, these devices offer multiple options for reverse voltage VR(max) from 30V to 100V and forward current IF(average) from 1A to 3A. A distinctive feature of the CFP3-HP package is the use of an exposed heat sink, thus providing excellent thermal efficiency Ptot in this small size (3.7 mm x 1.8 mm x 0.9 mm).
Nexperia launches portfolio of 22 new CFP3-HP packaged planar Schottky diodes
Frank Matschullat, product line manager for power bipolar discrete devices at Nexperia, said: "As industry packaging trends shift toward smaller packages such as CFP, Nexperia is committed to actively driving this trend and accelerating our commitment to packaging innovation. Through significant investment By expanding our production capacity, we are fully prepared to meet the growing market demand for CFP packaged products, exceeding the total expected market volume in the next three years. These diodes mark a new expansion of our more than 270 CFP packaged product portfolio."
These packages use a proprietary copper clip design to address efficient and space-saving design requirements. Today, CFP packaging is not only available for power diode technologies such as Schottky rectifier diodes and fast recovery rectifier diodes, but also extends to bipolar transistors. This rich and diverse product line not only increases product diversity, but also further solidifies Nexperia's position as a leader in packaging innovation. Semiconductor manufacturers provide customers with a wider selection of devices through reliable supply chains to meet different needs.
