TSMC once again sent a special plane to Kumamoto to assist in the construction of a new factory in Japan

TSMC's first plant in Japan is expected to start production by the end of 2024. Liu Deyin, chairman of TSMC, once said that currently TSMC has only purchased the land for the first factory, and the land for the second factory is still being expropriated. In the future, the second factory will be located in Kumamoto. Since many customers believe that TSMC's mature process capacity is insufficient, the second factory in Japan will focus on evaluating the needs of mature processes, and there is currently no plan to introduce advanced processes.

Jin Zhishou, chief of the information industry section of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, said that they also hope to fight for the budget from a sustainable perspective, and are considering the issue of subsidizing TSMC's second factory in Japan.

Choosing to produce advanced chips in Japan can meet the country's market demand for high-quality, high-reliability chips. As a key country in global technological innovation, Japan has the world's leading industries such as automobiles, electronics and communications. With the rapid development of technologies such as electrification and autonomous driving, the demand for high-performance chips is also increasing. TSMC's production of advanced chips in Japan will help meet the needs of local customers and provide higher-quality solutions.

In general, TSMC sent a special plane to Kumamoto to assist in the construction of a new factory in Japan, which shows TSMC's emphasis on and commitment to the local market. This move will further strengthen TSMC's business in Japan and help the development of Japan's technology industry.
