STMicroelectronics recently released a new security software designed to simplify cloud connections between high-performance STM32H5-based IoT devices and Microsoft Azure IoT Hub.
The STM32Cube software expansion package X-CUBE-AZURE-H5 designs a set of software libraries and application routines for the STM32H5 series of high-performance microcontrollers in terminal equipment. This application example illustrates the secure cloud connection method between IoT devices and Azure IoT Hub, including network configuration and data publishing. The application handles Azure® messages, methods, and device twin update commands.
STMicroelectronics’ STM32Cube reference software code and Azure IoT Hub’s powerful services can help developers transform data collected by devices into actionable recommendations to optimize production operations and improve product and service quality.
The STM32H5 MCU plays an important role in the STM32Cube ecosystem, with its advanced processor architecture and enhanced security for use in next-generation IoT devices. By using the STM32Cube reference software code and the powerful services of Azure IoT Hub, developers can more easily complete the device registration process without having to perform product identity confidentiality measures during product production.
The STM32H5 MCU is also equipped with Secure Manager security software, which can save certificates and other device confidential information data required for devices to connect to Azure IoT Hub. Secure Manager's isolation function can protect intellectual property rights jointly held by multiple parties on the same platform, also known as multi-party IP protection. The STM32Cube ecosystem coupled with the STM32H5 microcontroller provides developers with a powerful and secure platform to develop IoT applications that comply with future regulations and standards.
The new secure software, X-CUBE-AZURE-H5, is now available for download and provides developers with a powerful and secure platform to simplify cloud connectivity between IoT devices and Microsoft Azure IoT Hub.
