SIA urges Biden administration not to further restrict China

Reuters reported on the 17th that the US Semiconductor Industry Association urged the Biden administration on Monday to avoid "further" restrictions on chip sales to China.

The statement was a response to a series of regulations introduced in October (last year) restricting the development of China's chip industry, as well as a new executive order restricting some foreign investment.

According to people familiar with the matter, the CEOs (CEOs) of the three major U.S. chip giants will go to Washington to hold talks with U.S. government officials and lawmakers to lobby Biden to abandon new restrictions on chip exports to China. It is reported that the three chip giants are Intel, Qualcomm and Nvidia. Although they do not expect to prevent all related actions of the US government, they have detected a window of opportunity. They hope to convince the Biden administration that the escalation of the situation will damage the White House and China's current Engagement and diplomatic efforts to build more productive relationships.
