In recent years, with the increasing demand for the development of E/E architecture, the automotive actuator ECU market has gradually increased the demand for upgrading traditional product design assets. In this context, the diversification of the product lineup has become a key factor, such as "small memory with high performance in the same space" and "diversified memory options".
In order to meet these market demands, we launched the RH850/F1KM-S2 series, which is located between the RH850/F1K series and the RH850/F1KM-S4 series, to expand customers' choices.
Next, we will introduce two application cases of RH850/F1KM-S2 series products.
Case 1: Easy to shrink program size
In RH850/F1KM-S4 development, OTA requirement is removed. Since OTA support requires 2MB+2MB of space, the program size needs to be reduced to 2MB. In this case, if the RH850/F1KM-S2 series products are used, the developer can carry out development after changing the hardware and software within a minimum range, which greatly facilitates the development process.
Case 2: Handling enhanced security requests with ease
In the RH850/F1KM-S1 development project, the security request was strengthened to require support for Evita-Mid. Since the 1MB ROM space has been exhausted, it is necessary to add security firmware and update the HSM (Hardware Security Module) to support Evita-Mid. In this case, if the RH850/F1KM-S2 series products are used, the development can also be carried out after changing the software and hardware within a minimum range, which provides convenience for responding to enhanced security requirements.
To sum up, the RH850/F1KM-S2 series products meet the needs of the automotive actuator ECU market for the improvement of traditional product design assets by providing a variety of options. Regardless of program size reduction or enhanced security requirements, the RH850/F1KM-S2 series products can make software and hardware changes in the smallest range, which provides convenience for developers.
