Texas Instruments model INA219AIDR (click to buy now) is an operational amplifier, shunt and power monitor with I2C or SMBUS compatible interface. The device monitors the shunt voltage drop and the bus supply voltage, and the number of conversions and filtering options are programmable. The programmable calibration value combined with the internal multiplier allows direct reading of the current value, and additional multiplication registers allow calculation of power. I2C or SMBUS compatible interface has 16 programmable addresses.
INA219AIDR is available in two grades: Grade A and Grade B. Class B models have higher accuracy and tighter precision specifications. The INA219AIDR senses divided voltage in the bus from 0V to 26V. The device operates from a single 3V to 5.5V supply with a maximum current consumption of 1mA. The INA219 operates over a temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.
