Diodes recently released three new products that meet automotive standards, namely ZXMS82090S14PQ, ZXMS82120S14PQ and ZXMS82180S14PQ, which are the first dual-channel high-side power switches designed to drive 12V automotive device loads. The introduction of this new family of products further expands Diodes' portfolio of IntelliFET® self-protected MOSFETs designed to provide high power, compact size, and rugged protection and diagnostics.
The three smart switches are equipped with N-channel dual MOSFET arrays rated at 41V and are suitable for loads such as LEDs, bulbs, actuators and motors in automotive body control and lighting systems. Its on-board circuitry features short-circuit protection, surge current handling, and load dump protection during overvoltage conditions. In addition, these switches offer overtemperature protection with auto-restart, as well as electrostatic discharge protection. With appropriate external components, they also provide ground failure and reverse polarity protection.
These products' dedicated current sense pins accurately monitor the analog current output and provide fault indication for short-to-battery, short-to-ground, and open-load detection. This makes IntelliFET products an efficient, reliable, smaller form factor alternative to relays, fuses and discrete circuits. At the same time, these three new products maintain the same appearance, applicability and functionality as existing power switching devices, providing customers with more choices.
The ZXMS82090S14PQ, ZXMS82120S14PQ and ZXMS82180S14PQ are AEC-Q100 qualified, manufactured in an IATF 16949 certified facility and support PPAP documentation. They are packaged in a thermally efficient SO-14EP package to ensure reliability and stability in automotive applications. The launch of this series of products will further enhance the performance of automotive electronic systems and meet the needs of the evolving automotive industry.
