Recently, AOS has launched a set of EZBUCK™ converters designed to power dedicated platforms, among which the AOZ2295QI-05 supports desktop and laptop computing systems with a 5V output voltage in its compact thermally enhanced package.
High-performance personal computing systems continue to pursue richer additional functions and more USB Type-C ports, and the demand for 5V output current has risen to more than 10A. However, traditional power supply architecture often uses power controllers with independent power MOSFETs or dual low-current converters to achieve a 5V output voltage and high current, which brings problems such as an increase in the number of components and an increase in PCB area, thus increasing system costs. Different from this approach, AOS integrates all power chips in a 12A thermally enhanced QFN 4mm x 4mm package through a highly integrated solution, providing designers with a compact solution size and minimizing the overall design space and achieve industry-leading efficiency and thermal performance.
AOS launches new generation EZBUCK™ converter
The AOZ2295QI-05 converter has many technical highlights. First of all, it adopts the on-time automatic extension mode design. Even if the battery voltage drops to 5.5V, the converter can still output 5V stably. Secondly, AOS's unique constant on-time architecture gives it an ultrasonic mode, ensuring that the operating frequency is higher than 30kHz, effectively preventing the occurrence of audible noise. In addition, the new device also has the same high integration and protection features as other EZBuckTM series products. It features a PGOOD output, integrated bootstrap diode and integrated soft-start, as well as protection features such as cycle-by-cycle current limit, short-circuit protection (SCP), over-voltage protection (OVP) and thermal shutdown.
In addition to the above technical highlights, AOZ2295QI-05 also has the following main features:
Wide range input voltage: 5.5V to 25V
Maximum output current capability 12A
High peak current: 16A
Internal low on-resistance NFETs: 7mΩ high side, 3.6mΩ low side
5V LDO output
Supports on-time automatic extension mode
Support ultrasonic mode
Thermal enhanced 4mm x 4mm QFN package supports up to 60W output power
